Click for OptionsWEST MIDLANDS LINKS WITH NICARAGUA CONTINUE !
Visit by Young Nicaraguan trade unionists leads to twinning agreement .
As part of our regional links with Nicaragua , Geysal Medina and Carlos Molina Machada have visited our region .This follows a visit last year by members of UNISON West Midlands.
Both members of FETSALUD (the Nicaraguan health union) , they have both recently completed a UNISON funded Development course for young activists.
The two attended our regional International forum and met our regional secretary Ravi Subramanian.

They spent the day at the George Eliot hospital .
Whilst there ,on behalf of FETSALUD they signed a twinning agreement with the George Eliot hospital and UNISON.
Although one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere Nicaragua has a vibrant Public Health service from which we can learn a great deal , but which is hampered by a lack of resources.
It is hoped that we can gain the support of regional health branches in sending surplus equipment to Nicaragua and if support is big enough send a container!
